Leigha Schmidt

I am currently a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in Psychology and Human Development and Family Studies. I am very interested in the interaction between children’s genes and their environments, and how these interactions can lead to different mental and behavioral health needs. After graduation, I plan on attending graduate school for school psychology and afterwards pursuing a career in the field. I hope to use my experience from this lab to help identify children at-risk for various social-emotional and behavioral concerns and implement early interventions to reduce their risk for future mental health needs. I am very excited to utilize all the valuable knowledge and experience this lab has given me to pursue my passion in advocating for children’s mental health as a future school psychologist!
